A Electric Scooter in Urban Communities | Electric Scooter Benefits
The first electric scooter was available to the public in 1996 but it wasn’t until 2018 when these devices rose to popularity. In August of that year, the arrival of e-scooters in Louisville won the hearts of over 400,000 users, taking Lime and Bird out for a spin. Since then, similar companies released their designs of an electric scooters, and brands like Jump, Lyft, Spin, HOPR, and Bolt were born.
With this trend among residents and even tourists, electric scooters have the potential to replace conventional vehicles and become the main mode of transportation in cities like Louisville. The idea of scooter-dominated roads left urbanists and urban planners alike pondering about the pros and cons of such means of transport.
What’s more, with global warming and the ongoing pressure of climate change, debates are emerging whether these electric scooters are essentially eco-friendly.
A Better Ride for Short Distances
In a census from city-data, a scooter can cover an average distance range of .66 miles from August 2018 to July of 2019. The median of which was 1.19 miles. The question is: Is this enough to transition from personal vehicles to electric scooters?
To draw people to use electric scooters would pose an immense challenge for green environment advocates as these individuals confined themselves to the use of their vehicles. This did not spare those who commute using bicycles given that most roads have designs to accommodate cars rather than pedal-driven vehicles.
The Electric Scooter Benefits the City
To get them to their destinations, by way of car or preferred transportation, there are options made available for commuters. However, they have to put matters such as those that generate less traffic or contribute minimal pollution into consideration.
This concept poses no problems for tourists, especially when they want to make the most of their holiday and maximize sightseeing as much as possible. Taking a ride on an electric scooter might be the best possible answer.
That being said, e-scooters can do only as much as take them on short-distance trips, conserving fossil fuels as in the case of cars. Additionally, e-scooters have the advantage of maneuverability through narrow passageways. This can consequently bring its riders to their destinations in a shorter time.
Solution for the Last Mile Problem
Outside the limits of the city, the last mile problem remains one of the major issues for urban planners. With e-scooters, it may very well serve as an ideal solution for this movement, especially for short mean distances.
The last mile is a term used to describe the concluding section of the delivery of commodities and commuters from a transportation hub to its final stop. The usual route of buses typically ends in areas where there are few to none sidewalk systems. This is where e-scooters come in. These may be able to subtend the rift by serving as envoys to transport commuters to their respective destinations.
Plans for the E-Scooter Deployment
The Office of Advanced Planning constructed a plan last 2016, which conveniently applied to scooters in cities like Louisville. In this policy, a mass of considerations was on the table to allow the transition of public transit with bikes and scooters being part of that shift. One study revealed that 82% of commuters in Louisville drive to work alone.
When shared scooters first came out, the 2016 document recently came through. Bird, in particular, was still putting up with various capital firms to seal a contract. The goals of this plan fully encompassed the e-scooters under the LouVelo bike-share program.
In an interview, authorities didn’t anticipate that e-scooters were going to show up on our street, but we have a goal that says embrace smart mobility, and they knew that the sharing economy was growing. Although Louisville is in the process of developing its roadways to accommodate different means of transportation, urban planners are still doubtful whether the city is truly ready to handle electric scooters.
Last July, eight operators operated simultaneously as the city dock less vehicle policy improved. This is a huge step up compared previously when only four were permitted to operate. Included in the revision was the lowering of company ideals in terms of the sizes of their fleets.
On average, one company is allowed only 650 vehicles as per the probationary license. On the other hand, 1,050 vehicles are granted to companies that possess a full operational license. Companies that function within Louisville operate on a regulation that restricts them from rapidly growing their scooter business. Under this law, companies can add a maximum of 100 scooters a month during its probationary period, whereas up to 200 scooters roam the streets for those with a full license.
Electric Scooter Backlash
Despite its boom, e-scooters received quite a handful of negative criticisms, to the extent that some of the vehicles suffered vandalism. This is not the first time. From brakes being cut to scooters being thrown into the river or being set on fire, numerous other similar cases happened across states.
One of the reasons for these destructive acts is due to the poor handling of their owners. Individuals blatantly expressed their disdain towards the vehicles for improper parking in the middle of sidewalks or even obstructing ramps designated for disabled patients.
Electric Scooters are Eco-Friendly
One of the best features of e-scooters is its sustainability. While these vehicles herald for being more eco-friendly than cars, some studies reported that they are not entirely green.
Electric scooters require regular charging and transferring them to charge hubs can increase their lifetime emissions. Gas-powered vehicles usually gather the scooters and return them to private garages to put them back up at a certain location the next morning.
Lime data published that each car trip is equal to one of three scooter trips. Moreover, both Lime and Bird are developing ways to counterpoise the emissions discharged by their fleet, and this includes pick-up vehicles.
The E-Rides are for the People
Cities that embraced innovative technology openly chose e-scooters as the preferred mode of transportation. This gave rise to accessibility programs wherein companies petitioned people who have narrow choices for transport. Lime Access, One Bird, and Bolt Forward are some of the companies that offer rental scooter services for anyone who meets the criteria of government assistance programs. For convenience’s sake, these programs allow transactions through the use of cash and regular phones rather than a credit card or smartphones, respectively.
Electric Scooter technology and transportation is something everybody should have access to. The more riders get access to use micro mobility, the better it will be for our cities. It will be for the improvement of our communities and better off our citizens of this country.

Electric e Scooters: Eco-Friendly Solution to Sustainable Micro Mobility
Looking for an environmentally friendly alternative for your transportation? The popularity of an electric e scooters grew vastly as the new decade progressed since more people are becoming conscious of the environment.
Well-known transportation companies like Bird and Lime introduced their very own electric scooters to the public. This micro-mobility yields many benefits that can impact our surroundings in decreasing carbon dioxide emission, the reinvigoration of mass transit, and reduces dependency on cars.
Despite receiving a ton of backlash from the media in recent years concerning the clutter, the safety hazards, and the lost parking spots, electric scooters alleviated the need for public transport mainly in urban and suburban areas.
Electric scooters possess multiple advantages that can be beneficial to many individuals. These micro-mobility services can expand access to public transportation, reduce the negative effects on the environment, and save cash. These modes can progress into better micro mobilities like solar power or electric vehicles.
Safety is the top priority of every vehicle traveling on the street. Every city should attend to the needs of the citizens by creating a solution to their problems concerning the allocation of street space. It starts with the modification of public transit systems wherein micro-mobility networks such as e-scooters and bicycles are given the opportunity to occupy spaces frequented by cars.
The infographics instituted by Valence Strategic’s Levi Tillemann and designer Lassor Feasley showcases the main reasons why policymakers highly encourage the usage of micro-mobility services. The environmental and land-use challenges causing distress among urban communities display a large scale which means we have to act quickly.
Electric e Scooters: Cost-Effectiveness
In spite of having nearly complete combustion, cars are often inefficient. An average American weighs at least 175 pounds. An average American car weighs about 4,100 pounds, according to a study claimed by the US Department of Energy, which is more than 23 times more than an individual.
This clearly shows that most of the energy in the car is utilized to move the transportation. Electric e scooters equipped with an efficient electric motor only weigh around 28 pounds, which establishes a great benefit in the consumption of energy.
A gasoline-powered car can travel less than a mile with a one-kilowatt hour of energy. Four miles of the same amount of energy can be traveled by more efficient cars like Tesla Model 3. Electric scooters, on the other hand, can travel more than 80 miles— exactly 333 laps around a football field.
Fuel Price
In the previous decades, electric vehicles and renewable energy used to compete against cheap technologies that mainly utilize fossil fuels. Unlike transportations like public transit, taxis, and personal cars, electric scooters are cheaper to utilize mainly because the fuel cost of these micro-mobility rides is a bit more than 1 percent of a car’s, which is able to deliver 28 miles per gallon.
This concludes that owning an electric scooter can let you spend a little amount from your savings. With electric scooters, you are able to meet efficient, eco-friendly, and attractive micro-mobility.
Manufacturing Cost
We already agreed that electric scooters are energy efficient but did you know that they are capital efficient as well?
One long-range Tesla Model 3 costs approximately $53,000. This amount can allow you to purchase more than 100 high-quality electric scooters.
There is a wide variety of scooters that may or may not suit your preference. Some scooters can be utilized in the rain, snow, long-distance drive, or even moving your kids or pets. 60 percent of US trips can be traveled for at least 5 miles and during those trips, drivers tend to ride alone.
The utilization of a micro-mobility decreases the economic and environmental cost that the majority of Americans usually take in trips.
E-Scooter’s Weight
In addition, electric scooters are also energy efficient to manufacture. We mentioned before that an average American car weighs around 4,100 pounds. A car with this weight creates about 22seven tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
Meanwhile, a short-range EV with a decreasing manufacturing line has a higher carbon effect compared to gasoline-powered vehicles. However, it becomes a much more environmentally friendly alternative because it causes less carbon footprint on the road.
Electric scooters weigh around 28 pounds. An amount of weight this small requires lesser energy to produce. We presume that the embedded energy used in e-scooters is less than 1 percent of an automobile’s.
Embedded Energies
Many individuals are seeking alternatives that can improve the access to transportation and at the same time, can reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This is where micro-mobility vehicles come in.
Compared to average automobiles, these electric scooters only require little or no additional infrastructure. City planners should acknowledge these vehicles and allow them to occupy urban space. Since governments are short of funds, they are seeking cost-effective solutions to increase mobility and decrease the environmental footprint. Electric scooters are one of, if not the best alternative out there because it is cheaper, more energy-efficient, more fuel-efficient, more eco-friendly, and more budget-friendly.

5 Adult Kick Scooters You Should Have – Electric Scooter
For environment-conscious folks, adult kick scooters are the next big thing after electric cars, and perhaps the best way to travel short distances without having to spend on gas or electricity. Given our worsening air and noise pollution, traffic problem, and lack of parking space, kick scooters, along with bicycles and skateboards, make as an alternative mode of transportation. They are compact, lightweight, environment-friendly, easy to use, maintenance-free, and with the exercise you can get, good for the body. So should you buy a kick scooter?
Like any vehicle, kick scooters come in different brands and models. What is considered as a kid’s toy is not just a toy anymore, but a solution to our traffic and pollution problems. Kick scooters have been modified to become a grownup’s mode of transport (or plaything too), hence adult kick scooters. Just like choosing a car, adult kick scooters entail careful consideration not only in terms of price, but also convenience (ease of folding and unfolding), smoothness, stability, and portability.
What adult kick scooter should you pick? The right adult scooter is one you can use for both leisure and public transportation. You sure will be overwhelmed by the different kick scooters in the market, but there are five kicks that should appeal to you:
Micro White and Micro Black kick scooter
Any kick scooter will always look good in either black or white because excellent design, not color, is what matters, which is why Micro deserves first mention here. Micro kick scooters are as tough and convenient as their fellow Swiss, the Swiss Army knife. Of course, that is what you expect of the Swiss. Their folding devices reflect their excellence in design, and Micro scooters are no exemption. Micro kick scooters come in two colors, hence the Micro White and the Micro Black.
The company is known for their extensive range of kick scooters for children. Both White and Black are their most popular adult kick scooters, specifically developed to meet the riding requirements of adults, as evident in its pair of extra large wheels, height-adjustable handlebar, two-way kickstand, shock-absorbing hand grips, and ergonomic design. The scooters have a higher T-bar and a lower foot board to guarantee good balance and a comfortable and pleasant posture, and its responsive and precise steering allows easy navigation and promotes driving confidence. Though the large wheels diminish the Micro’s look, it allows the scooter to travel faster and overcome long stretches comfortably and quickly, thus making it one of the fastest kick scooters on the streets.
Foldable and portable are two words that best describe the smooth-gliding Micro in terms of convenience. However, it does not comes with a trolley function, but weighing 4.7kg, it is pretty light and therefore, easy to carry.
Oxelo Town 7 Easyfold
The French-designed Oxelo Town 7 Easyfold, as its name suggest, is synonymous with convenience. It boasts of a 1-second quick folding mechanism, a technology patented by Oxelo. To fold, all you need to do is to just step on a button at the front, and the deck folds up. To unfold, just grab the quick release lever, and the deck will drop and lock. Indeed, the Oxelo Town 7 Easyfold is a scooter developed for a kick fold. What’s also great about this adult kick scooter is that you can park it without a kickstand and even padlock it to any item of a street infrastructure.
Like the Micro scooter, the Town 7 Easyfold also comes with a pair of 200mm wheels, which allows the rider to cruise faster and run pretty long distance with long gentle kicks. However, the scooter lacks grip on the ground, so you would want to be careful not to skid when driving over wet surfaces due to lack of friction. Unlike the Micro, the Town 7 Easyfold comes in trolley mode. You can effortlessly drag your scooter like a luggage or else carry it as it comes too with a detachable shoulder strap. But since it is a bit heavier than the Micro (at 5.6kg), it is wise to drag it around instead, especially if you make several transfers when taking public transportation.
Xootr Roma
The Xootr Roma is the lightest, fastest, and most compact kick scooter from Xootr, based in Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA. The company specializes in kick scooters for tall people at least 5 feet and above. Xootr hand-make their kick scooters with the aid of computer numerical control (CNC) machining tools that generate precisely cut parts. The deck and the frame of the Roma are CNC machined from a solid block of 6061-T6 aluminum, which provides the adult kick scooter its light and literally bulletproof structure. Thanks to such material, the Roma is able to support a maximum load of up to 300 lbs (136 kg).
What’s noteworthy about the Xootr Roma is its narrow deck, which measures 16 inches long and 4 inches wide. The streamlined shape of the deck is designed to position the rider’s feet on the deck over the scooter’s center of gravity. This, in turn, provides the rider optimum balance, increased riding stability, and greater kicking efficiency. With all of their weight centered on the deck’s center of gravity, the rider is able to glide and kick more efficiently. The narrow deck also allows for easy transport in crowded space or tight corners. On the other hand, the length of the deck allows you to fit both feet on a ride.
The Xootr Roma gives a pretty good speed with its 180mm wheels, and it should be easy to carry around, since it weighs only 4.5kg and comes with a detachable strap. Given the size of its deck, it will take up less space when you ride public transport. The downside with the Roma adult kick scooter is that it is not easily foldable.
Goped Knowped
With its wooden deck and steel frame design, the Goped Knowped is perhaps the strongest adult kick scooter in the market. It is able to support a maximum load of up to 400 lbs (180 kg), and its pair of 150mm wide, solid rubber wheels, which will never go flat, offers comfort whenever you drive over bumps and uneven ground and better grip on the ground (but at the cost of speed). Its broader deck gives you more room to rest your feet on. It has two brakes for safety and great control.
In terms of convenience, the mechanisms for folding and unfolding the Knowped is very simple and effortless. You just need to lift the lower part of the handlebar and watch the kick scooter fold. Hold it in place by looping the strap over the back wheel fender. To unfold, you just release the strap and straighten the handlebar. In terms of portability, the Knowped is relatively light, weighing 5.6 kg.
Kleefer Pure-180
What’s great about the Kleefer Pure-180 is its foldability, which takes just as little effort. Thanks to the scooter’s patented system, no bending necessary. You just need to give the locking pedal a little kick, slightly tilt the handlebar, and watch the deck automatically fold up in a second. The Kleefer Pure-180 is ultra compact and rigid when folded, and it is no bigger than an umbrella. To unfold, just hold the handlebar, pull the deck rearwards, and let the cylinders do the rest.
The Kleefer Pure-180 is indeed a French beauty, and it will remain so, thanks to its strong anti-corrosion coating. The adult kick scooter has a light yet sturdy frame, made from high quality aluminum. Its deck is uniquely curved, its streamlined size providing better balance and an almost effortless ride. It comes with two brakes (front and rear), and its pair of 180mm wheels are built with shock-absorbent wheel rim – features that promote a safe, speedy, and comfortable ride. Like the other kick scooters, the Kleefer Pure-180 is also in trolley mode.
What adult kick scooter should you pick? Make sure you pick the right one. This is an investment you will utilize to get around your town or city or commute to work or school.

Safety Precautions on Electric Scooters | Kids Scooter | Mobility Scooter
One of the significant solutions introduced by environmentalists to curb carbon dioxide emission is by infusing electric scooters to urban cities and developing areas all over the world. The e-scooters brought positive results not only to save the environment from air pollution but also to traffic congestion as well. These wonderful equipment delivered convenience to the riding public as it resolved the last mile concern for people living away from bus, subway, and train stations. With all of the electric scooters’ glory, it also faced numerous accidents due to reckless driving and poor awareness of the vehicle’s limitations and functionality. Safety precautions on electric scooters apply to every rider and must be taken seriously.
Electric Scooter Related Injuries
The Public Health Transportation Departments in Austin, Texas made a study concerning electric scooter related injuries in coordination with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The research resulted in the identification of 271 e-scooter related injuries from September 5 to November 30, 2018. The department presented the study to the CDC in Atlanta, Georgia at the Epidemic Intelligence Service Conference.
The study documented 182,333 e-scooter hours used with an equivalent of 891,121 miles travelled by the vehicles or 936,110 trips made by these machines. Records showed that 20 people sustained injuries per 100,000 trips on e-scooters in the 3-month study. Of the 20 accidents that happened to e-scooter riders, 10 people suffered head injuries. These injuries could have been prevented by a safety precaution of wearing a helmet. The study further revealed that only one of the 190 electric scooter riders use the protective helmet.
Electric Scooter Rising in Urban Cities in America
According to the National Association of City Transportation Officials in the US, there were 38.5 million trips rode or shared on electric scooters across urban cities in America in 2018. This is the phenomenon the country is experiencing right now, mainly in cities and college towns. Investors began pouring money to e-scooter companies after they saw the potential return of their money from these investments. Start-up companies like BIRD and LIME, received funding from venture capitalists to promote further the deployment of the transport. The popularity is so great that even the taxi giants like UBER and LYFT joined the fray to contribute their share in resolving traffic congestion, minimizing of air pollution, and providing solutions for the last mile issue.
The popularity of the electric scooter brought along safety regulatory oversights. Injuries were common and grew to be a problem posing difficulties in promoting safety precautions on electric scooter riders. Other studies followed on electric scooter related injuries but the Austin model was the research that federal epidemiologists gave priority.
Interviews with Electric Scooter Casualties
The Austin Public Health department, along with CDC researchers talked to people injured while on an e-scooter for possible causes and other relevant information that led to their injuries. The study did not have a death incident documented but there are some reports of deaths while riding an e-scooter around the country. The interviews revealed that 55% met their accidents on the streets while 33% were on the sidewalk. Of the accidents that occured, cars or other vehicles caused the incident at 16% while 37% blamed overspeeding to be the cause of their crash. Injuries tallied at 16% of the car-related accidents but only 10 % actually crashed with a car. The other injured riders consist of 10% hitting a curb and 7% hit street structures such as a pole or a manhole cover.
Further interviews saw that ⅓ of the injured respondents consumed alcohol in a span of 12 hours before the incident; 37% pointed to overspeeding on the e-scooter and a surprising 19% had injuries from falling caused by non-working brakes and wheels malfunctions. Other injuries were due to distracted driving because of using the phone and another with earphones on listening to music.
Another perception of the causes of accidents happening is during night-time driving. On the contrary, only 39% of the injuries happened during the night with the inclusive time from 6 PM to 6 AM. Morning and evening rush hours took 20% of the accidents with an additional 22% occuring during working hours.
It is not surprising that the reports issued by the department showed that one third of the injuries on electric scooters are with first time riders. E-scooter companies require first time riders to swipe on a tutorial on safety precautions before hopping on the vehicle. Authors say that the download of safety precautions on electric scooters is not enough in getting ready to scoot at 20 mph speeds down the road for novice riders. The injured number to 70% saying that they read the downloaded safety warnings before they rode the e-scooter while 60% say that the safety training came after their injuries happened.
Electric Scooter Safety Precautions
Safety Equipment
Always wear standard safety equipment like the helmet, gloves, knee and elbow protector, and close tipped shoes. We don’t want to meet accidents but it is best to be safe than sorry.
Tires Check
Always keep the tires in check by optically inspecting them first if they are in good shape. Deformed tires means it is not safe to ride the electric scooter. Maintain the required pressure of the e-scooter tires. Check the thread if its still in good condition. You put yourself at risk riding on an e-scooter with worn-out threads in the tires.
Be Aware of Pedestrians and Traffic
Do not allow yourself on any distraction from your surroundings. Focus on your driving so you can elude accidents on heavy passersby and oncoming traffic.
Look out for Barriers and other Inanimate Objects
Concentrate of the road you are trodding. Accidents are sometime due to obstruction blunders down the road.
Choose Your Path
Riders must avoid slippery surfaces or deep mud and snow at all times. Exercise caution when reeling through these unstable terrain to avoid injuries when you take that fall.
Relax and Keep Calm
This safety precaution is often times taken for granted with the thought of getting to your destination as fast as possible. Push lightly and never pressure yourself and the machine to speed up your arrival.
Do not Drive Under a Stormy Weather
It is dangerous to drive under a stormy weather on an electric scooter. Riding on an e-scooter under this condition is prone to lightning strikes that could mame or kill you.
Injuries and accidents are preventable when exercising safety precautions on electric scooters. Ride safely and arrive home in one piece.

Government’s Initiative for Electric Scooters for a Greener Future
Governments around the world want to cut down on carbon dioxide emission and see the electric scooters as a part of the solution for a greener future. Some agencies allotted initial budget for the endeavor while private companies raised their part to contribute to further the goals and push the e-scooters to travel the streets of urban cities.
A Dollar for Every Electric Scooter per Day
E-scooter companies, like the BIRD, made a pledge of $1 per day for every electric scooter traversing the city’s streets for the development of bike lanes to protect riders from speeding motorists. BIRD e-scooter company started this initiative for other entities to follow so more electric kick scooters can join the goal for a greener future. An estimated 10,000 scooters used daily is enough to generate funds for safe and wider bike lanes in the urban areas.
The Lyft e-Scooter Company does its share by implementing the last mile solution for commuters that has to travel that extra mile to subway, bus, and train depots. A third of its equipment is at these areas where low income families dwell and public transportation is lack. This is a practical initiative than to deploy another route of public transport that could be heavy on the budget.
The LIME e-scooter company obliges every rider to submit a feedback with an accompanying photo of the parked electric scooter after the rentals use. The entity offers discounted rates to low income persons needing a ride to their destination.
These actions foster a blossoming social relationship between governments and e-scooter companies and will further deepen when the cooperation is continued with the noble purpose of a greener future using the machines. Another great thing about this collaboration is for e-scooter companies fulfilling its promise to pick up parked rented scooters daily after every use. Previous systems left duly rented scooters spread around the city posing as road hazards to commuters and pedestrians.
Electric Scooters Benefit Almost Everyone
Almost everybody win with the entry of electric scooters on the mainstream of short commutes. The local and national Government will attain its goal to reduce harmful gases strewn in our surroundings, commuters’ concern on the last mile problem has the solution by using these e-vehicles, traffic congestion and parking areas has the answer with the e-scooters on the road, and electric scooter companies will make more money in sales and rentals.
The setup is a win-win situation where urban cities win, commuters win, and e-scooter companies win. Scooters indicate the improvement of lifestyle using these micro-mobility vehicles. People just love to scoot around for work or pleasure. But there are some negative effects to riders as per their usage of the e-scooter.
An example of this is the speed limit imposed on a city in Germany called the “light electric vehicle Bill”, where it states that electric scooters should have a maximum speed of 20 km/hr, the maximum legal speed allowed for the light electric vehicle. The bill is not amenable to electric scooter rental entities that has models speeding up to 30 km/hr when activated; riders will have a tendency to go at faster speeds with this model.
Electric Scooter companies target is the replacement of 50% of fossil fuel commutes in every city that will involve the e-kick scooters. The electric scooter will be evolving in a fast pace to reach its goal of massive deployment in urban cities around the world and it will be here sooner than everyone expect.
Not everyone will be happy with the electric scooter invasion of the road. Oil companies would probably see a small dip in their sales; car businesses would slow down its production that will trickle down the line of other entities involved with these affected conglomerates. Nevertheless, the electric scooter’s aim is for a greener future, that has to go first.
The Electric Scooter Evolving for the Greener Future
Expect electric scooters to improve its features in preparation to its massive invasion on the streets of big cities in the world. Since its adoption as an alternative to short commutes, problems arise significantly with immediate solutions. The next models for release will have improved travel distance and upgraded battery capacities to avoid recharging in the middle of the day. This is one area of concern of current users of electric scooters. Batteries and charging capacities will be better than its early counterparts.
Future releases will have a dedicated micro controller instead of prototyping kits that contain elements for long term evolution parts (LTE) used to increase the capacity and speed of the electric scooter with a different radio connectivity together with the core network improvements.
Expect a more powerful motor for rugged terrains. You need improved engines to negotiate those uphill climbs and the rugged off road tracks that are not so flat.
Convenient turning lights on your e-scooters will help avoid falls.. Some riders met their accidents while trying to activate a signal light with one hand before turning on an intersection or a curve. The action could cause the rider to lose control on the handlebars and fall off the electric scooter.
Foldable electric scooters will be put on hold. These designs are the ones to go first; it affect construction durability. Improved designs will be out soon for a stronger and reliable ride. An adjustable height feature will go with this new design.
Another feature added to your downloaded scooter app is the volume of carbon dioxide saved on your ride with an electric scooter. It would encourage drivers to turn to using the electric scooter for short commutes.
New pricing plans will be available for e-scooter users and improved payment schemes and discounts will be for the shared e-scooter renters. E-scooter companies aim to develop and improve every aspect of the ride in preparation for a mass deployment to urban cities across the planet in the future. The issue of winter is coming and should have a resolution of the electric scooter delivering its services in this season.
Above everything else, the electric scooter for a greener future is the mode of transportation while Google is to the internet.

Electric Scooters Legalization in London | London e-Scooter
Electric Scooters Legalization in London: Electric scooters would be allowed to use cycle lanes in London as cycling campaigners push for its legalization on the streets. The government is currently investigating how to legalize them.
A report by the London Cycling Campaign said e-bikes, e-scooters and e-cargo bikes should all be welcomed and could have a key role in a greener future for the city post-lockdown. But the London Cycling Campaign said that e-scooters, which are illegal to ride on public roads, should not be allowed on pavements. In the lack of a comprehensive network of segregated lanes, they should be equal to cyclists in terms of being able to use the road.
Electric Scooters Legalization in London: E-scooter Riders Safety
The report indicated that increased pressure on cycle routes was not that bad as it shows the need for road space reallocation. It seems as Transport for London chiefs said they were concerned about the lack of safety for the e-scooter users but also said they were keen for the capital, and the 33 boroughs, to shape the national policy on their use.
Currently, it is illegal to use e-scooters on public roads or pavements. Riders would face a £300 fixed fine and six points on their licence for using a motor vehicle with no insurance. A Government trial of e-scooter rental schemes will launch this month but this is only for people who hold a driving licence.
Public Consultation for the E-Scooter on the streets of London
The British government is opening a public consultation for legal use of electric scooters in what is likely would be the first step towards legalizing them in the country. The consultation is an attempt to work out the rules of what should be placed on scooter manufacturers and riders in order to make sure they are safe on the roads of UK.
It has been announced as part of a broader review into transport in the country, which transport secretary Grant Shapps referred to as “the biggest review of transport laws in a generation.”
Despite their increase in popularity around the world, e-scooters have remained essentially illegal in the UK because of the pre existing laws of the country. These laws would categorize e-scooters as motor vehicles, but because scooters cannot pass the same safety and legal regulations as cars they are illegal to use on public roads. Since they are motorized, they are also illegal to use on the sidewalk under the 1835 Highway Act.
The consultation is an effort by the government to work out the different kinds of regulations that would be applied to e-scooters and their riders, which caused injuries in places where they are legal. The government wants to establish minimum vehicle requirements, and is also taking into account whether to require riders to wear helmets, carry a license, or have insurance. There are also questions about whether scooters should be allowed to be ridden on pavements or in cycle lanes.
Electric Scooters Legalization in London: For a Greener Environment
Micromobility and Active Travel in the UK, by the LCC’s policy forum, has international evidence on the increasing use of the battery-powered scooters, some of which could travel for more than 20mph.
LCC said that a “Micromobility coalition” of cyclists, e-bikers, e-scooter riders, and firms using e-cargo bikes could form a powerful voice calling for a wider network of segregated cycle lanes. It stated: “The arrival of e-scooters offers a cleaner, low carbon alternative to cars, for those who cannot or do not want to cycle, that will tackle climate change and help clean up London’s air.”
“E-Scooters could help create the less polluted, climate safe streets that urban dwellers want and need to see post-pandemic. It could cut private motor car use and enable a wider range of people to move about without using cars.” The research stated e-scooter riders faced similar safety risks from cars as cyclists. It said that a more equitable distribution of road space was required for a humane city.
Clean and Greener Mode of Transport
The huge number of e-scooter trips worldwide shows that it was not a fad. Global data suggests that the biggest shift to e-scooters is more likely from car drivers (36%) and pedestrians (37%), with a lower shift from public transport (13%) and cycling (9%).
E-scooter riders have the liking as cyclists: low-speed streets and segregated lanes. “Increase in the use of cycle tracks by e-scooter users would increase the pressure on transport authorities to provide the proper protected space for micro mobility users which would also include those cycling, and these forms could all be far more space efficient and safer than driving cars,” the report stated.
Gareth Powell, the TfL road chief, told yesterday’s TfL board meeting: “We have been concerned about the safety of e-scooters and they would remain illegal on London and national roads at present.
“The Department for Transport will bring forward a series of trials for rental e-scooters, which is not for private individuals to go, but them, and use them on the roads. They are discussing how that might apply.
