The Dockless Electric Kick Scooter: Your Ride to the Future
The e-scooters are small enough to avoid the rush hour traffic but very well convenient for sightseeing. Furthermore, many opt to use dockless scooters as they are environmentally friendly compared to its conventional gas-emitting counterpart. Presently, there are approximately 85,000 electric-powered vehicles in the U.S. that can be unlocked using one’s personal phone. In the year 2018, dockless electric kick scooter became the most common rentable transport with the use of an app, outnumbering e-bikes nationwide.
With the globalization and development of technology, the lives of people across the world has become easier and more convenient. Its role made an impact in every aspect of humans’ lives on businesses, transportation, education, medicine, banking systems, and other industries. Technology has allowed us to enjoy the comforts that our predecessors failed to experience as our tasks are completed faster and more efficiently. Overall, the evolution of technology has led to the growth and as well as the development of several countries.
Your Ride to the Future: Electric Scooter
Living in the 21stcentury, up-to-date technology has become a crucial element in our lives. We live in an age where technological advancement is required to keep up with the different challenges life has to bring. One of these adversaries concerns mobility, all while considering the growing risks of climate change. Global statistics reveal that transportation makes up 14% of all greenhouse gases. To address this problem, many cities have developed plans to reduce carbon footprints while expanding transport options. Countries like France and the UK have been investing in bike share systems, with more than 14,000 bicycles. In 2007, there were several installments done around the docks where commuters can pick up or drop off their bikes. The system can also serve as recharging stations for devices that are electrically powered.
Eco Friendly Dockless Electric Kick Scooter
Oftentimes advertised as “green” or “carbon neutral, these type of scooters are esentially electric batteries operated rather than by fossil fuels. However, do not be mistaken. An analysis conducted by a team of experts from North Carolina State University revealed the environmental impact of such mode of transportation and concluded that traveling by scooter yields more greenhouse emissions per mile. In fact, walking and riding a bicycle are all greener means of traveling. While dockless scooters are not entirely environment unfriendly, the manufacturing of the device itself: shipping, collecting, charging and distributing, contributes significantly to the accumulation of greenhouse gases.
Aside from its basic frame and electronic system, electric scooters naturally carry a battery. The production of these batteries also have an impact on the environment, similar to the batteries utilized in e-bikes and e-cars. Additionally, the e-scooter frames are constructed from aluminum and its tires are made from rubber. Further adding to the device’s environmental footprint.
A Renewable Energy Powered Dockless Electric Kick Scooter
The group of researchers from North Carolina State University were able to dismantle a similar model of e-scooter. Through this, they were able to uncover that its mere production is solely responsible for half of the carbon footprint it creates. On the other hand, the remaining 43% can be attributed to its collection and recharging. These transportation devices are charged by “juicers” or more commonly known as freelance workers. These individuals pick up e-scooters from the streets, typically in gas-powered cars and trucks, and “juice” them up in their homes by way of power outlets. Resultantly, this charging process is way off to be considered carbon neutral.
Currently, e-scooters are about two times as efficient as a gas-powered car in terms of per passenger miles per gallon. In that case, an average car carrying more than one person is more convenient and more efficient than an e-scooter. Same goes for fully-loaded buses and bicycles.
Electric Scooter Global Warming Impact
Many companies see e-scooters as the future of transportation for they might be effective solutions to decongest traffic in urban areas. They have been improving their means of production to lessen the life cycle global warming impacts. There have been attempts to improve scooter collection as well as proper approaches in charging these devices. Fuel-efficient vehicles are said to be used for collection. Especially of those in a low battery state, while reducing the driving distance for the collection and distribution of each e-scooter. Additionally, anti-vandalism policies can be implemented to reduce misuse and mistreatment. As the number of vandalized scooters decreases, the need for materials including its production, likewise reduces. In order to improve transportation situations, using e-scooters instead of cars might be practical however. Bus rides and bikes remain better choices for venturing the city if you’re concerned about the environment.

Ford and its Quest to Lead to Smart Mobility and Electric Vehicle Race – Electric Scooter
Ford Motor is certainly stepping up its game to get ahead of the pack when it comes to race on producing the top electric vehicle and smart mobility devices. Although many may initially think of this maker as the producer of the top-selling pick-up trucks in Northern America, the firm has set its eye on a more innovative platform- the production of best-selling vehicles and smart devices for mobility. Nevertheless, the cutting-edge transport technology in a cut-throat industry has been one of the company’s greatest visions.
It can be recalled that the CEO of the company, Mark Fields, made an announcement at the early parts o 2016 on the two-part strategy that Ford was to embark on. He states that Ford would continue to produce and sell popular vehicles (including electric vehicles) while boosting its investment in the creation of intelligent mobility services. He likewise made mention of the fact that Ford was and is keen on rethinking a more viable approach in business that would connect the present to the future. This is tantamount to going for a more elaborate technology for their own electric vehicle models and for other succeeding mobility products.
Partnerships with Various Key Players
Anchored to the vision of making Ford a true leader in the electric vehicle race and smart mobility, it has also taken quite a massive step in terms of partnerships. One of the steps taken by the vehicle manufacturer is with Amazon’s Echo. Ford has worked on a technology which would make it possible for its own SYNC in-car tech to be compatible with the smart speaker called Amazon Echo. It has also made an effort to make the SYNC tech compatible with various systems including the Wink Home Automation and the virtual assistance platform called Alexa. With such technology, the Ford owners of an electric vehicle or otherwise will be able to perform voice-control over several platforms such as their own cars, Web-liked devices, home security systems, TV’s, lights, and thermostats.
Ford is also calling for the quick implementation of the projects as there are now currently about15 million of vehicles tat are SYNC-equipped. The number is expected to rise up to 43 million by the year 2020. This is also a clear sign that Ford is going beyond the typical electric vehicle production and is ready to engage in smart technology as well. The step is quite timely as based on a survey conducted by Icontrol Networks, about 50% of consumers mentioned of their plans to purchase at least one smart home device in the next year.
Another project which proves that Ford is in the process of making it big in the electric vehicle and smart innovation race is the plan to expand their autonomous cars fleet. The plan is to triple its current fleet from 10 cars to 30. The goal is to create the largest fleet of self-driving cars in the entire electric car industry. The cars are to be installed with Velodyne, a next-generation sensor system, and will eventually be tested in states such as Arizona, Michigan, and California.
Another project in the pipeline which has been announced by Ford is centered on mobility strategy. This includes several other projects such as funding of a competition on transportation technology and a project with DJI, a world-renowned one maker.
The major plans laid out by Ford is a big part of its plan to spend a whopping $4.5 Billion in the electric vehicle development and production in the succeeding five years. This would also include Ford’s project to develop 13 new electric vehicles over the said period as seen in the recently developed Ford Focus Electric Vehicle.
Why the Business Shift
The entire Ford plan is strategic and is deeply rooted in societal trends, urbanization, associated health and social issues, and the apparent change in the consumer behavior, specifically among millennial. The giant electric vehicle manufacturer now has a market share of 6% in the global auto and electric vehicle industry. In addition, the new projects which focus on growing the electric vehicle production and smart device are geared towards self-preservation, according to Ford.
How Does Ford Intend to With the Electric Vehicle Race
For starter, the $4.5 billion investment in the electric vehicle production plays a significant role. Investing such a massive amount is tantamount to Ford’s acknowledgment that it intends to meet the zero-emission requirements set forth on the EPA Corporate Average Fuel Economy. Moreover, Ford is also sending a message that it certainly means business when it comes to ensuring the growth of its electric vehicle lineup.
The truth is , as compared to other automobile makers, Ford did not design and develop their first electric vehicle from scratch. The strategy employed by Ford involved installing electricity power sources on their existing brands such as the Ford Fusion and the Ford Focus. They have likewise used the existing C-Max design that they have created in Europe.
With such strategy, they were able to sell more electric vehicles in the US back in 2015 as compared to other manufacturers. The practical approach of adding the electric powertrain to their already selling car brands served the company well. This has saved a lot of resources they could have spent on creating a brand new brand of electric vehicle. Another advantage of the said strategy is that the company was able to save more on training and there was, in some way, a minimal pressure should their first electric vehicle flops.
Ford vs General Motors on Electric Vehicle Development
While Ford managed to make a killing by improving their existing brands and developing them into electric vehicles, General Motors took a different path. The approach was far more costly as GM made a hefty investment in developing a new platform for electric vehicles from scratch. For GM, this would guarantee better performance. True to its plan, it launched its Chevy Bolt which boasts 200 miles of range. The even more surprising fact is that the said EV brand is sold at approximately $30,000 a unit. This has certainly increased the pressure on Ford to boost its plan.
The Competition Never Ceases
While automobile giants such as Ford and General Motors have their eyes on the creating the best electric vehicle, Tesla is also making a massive return with its Tesla Model 3 which is about to be released in just a few months. Elon Musk also has the plan of its own which is now making a big noise in the electric vehicle manufacturing industry. The partnership with SolarCity and the changes in the Supercharging access and fees are all part of Tesla’s own mission to conquer the electric vehicle race.
Not far behind are Apple and Google who are ready to engage in the car competition in terms of service. Moreover, there are also new key players in Silicon Valley that are set to make the competition even more interesting. The questions now are – will they be able to catch up with Ford’s plans? Is Ford ready to take the competition to another level? The next 5 years will provide the tech and car enthusiasts the answer to those questions. For now, Ford intends to stay focused on delivering the best electric vehicle and top smart home and mobility devices to its customers.

Top Scooters for Children – Electric Scooter
Razor scooters swept the American market in the early 2000s. These stylish, compact push scooters were all the rage among adolescents. As technology progressed, motorized scooters became widely available and affordable. While not a viable method of transportation, these scooters are an excellent source of entertainment for children looking to ride around parks, neighborhoods, and recreational centers. Here is a list of the top scooters for children:
1. Razor E100
The E100 has the classic Razor style: it is sleek, compact, and quick. It can get up to ten miles per hour, and the rechargeable battery provides 40 minutes of ride time. It is designed to support up to 120 pounds of weight without affecting its speed and acceleration.
The E100 is a great scooter for young children who are beginners. Because it is not particularly fast, it is a safe scooter to practice on. It has a solid reputation and is one of the more popular children’s scooters in the UK and United States.
2. Razor Pocket Mod Electric Scooter
This scooter is not designed like the classic Razor kick scooters. It is designed to emulate a maxi-scooter, where the driver is sitting down when operating it. The Pocket Mod Scooter can reach a top speed of 15 miles per hour, and is able to ride for a total of ten miles on one charge. It is designed for children starting at 13 years of age, and can support up to 170 pounds.
The scooter is fast and strong, making it an excellent choice for teenagers who are interested in scooters. While it is designed for paved roads, it is strong enough to handle trails and gravel paths.
3. Pulse Performance Reverb
The Pulse Performance Reverb Electric Scooter goes back to the vintage push scooter design of the early 90s. While it doesn’t have the slender frame of Razor scooters, it is equally stylish. In addition, it can reach ten miles per hour while supporting up to 120 pounds of weight.
With a 40 minute ride time and only two hours to charge a completely flat battery, the Pulse Reverb Electric Scooter is a viable alternative to Razor’s products. Its maneuverability and handling make it an excellent choice for younger children who want the excitement of an electric scooter, but are too young to powerful engines.
4. Razor E90
The E90 is the perfect scooter for younger children. With a top speed of nine miles per hour, it is fast enough to provide 40 minutes of pure entertainment on one charge, but not too fast to be dangerous.
It is easy to operate, child friendly, and has the sleek design that razor scooters are famous for. However, its battery charge time is a full 24 hours, making it difficult to use frequently.
5. Razor E300 Electric Scooter
This scooter is quite powerful and is able to reach 15 miles per hour while supporting 220 pounds of weight. It provides 40 minutes of ride time, and takes a full 24 hours to reach a full charge.
Despite its long charge time, it is an excellent scooter for teenagers. Powerful and sturdy, this scooter is excellent is for paved roads and off-road trails.
6. UberScoot 1000w
This scooter is an excellent choice for teenagers who are looking for speed and power. It reaches a maximum of 26 miles per hour, making it the fastest scooter on the list by a large margin. It supports 265 pounds of weight without affecting its performance.
Riders can expect to get approximately 10 miles on a charge. It is strong enough to climb steep hills without a problem, and has enough power to support full-grown adults.
It is evident that Razor still dominates the children’s scooter market. However, as scooters become more popular in the United States, more companies are emerging as viable competitors.

2030 Forecast Report: The Invasion of the Electric Vehicles in Wealthy Cities Across the Globe – Electric Scooter
An interesting research that was recently made public reveals that by the year 2030, there could be more electric vehicles than gas-powered vehicles on the roads of the most progressive nation. Yes, the year mentioned was 2030. While this is only a few years from today, we can no longer discount the fact that there is an increasing awareness of the advantages of using battery-powered vehicles. Such awareness has likewise prompted demand which can be seen now in countries such as the US and in other wealthy European nation. According to the said report, electric vehicles will soon be accounted for roughly two-third of the total number of vehicles when the year 20130 comes.
EV Growth in Developed Cities
Wealthy cities such as Singapore and the London are also showing changes in terms of the demand for electric vehicles. In these particular cities, there has been an implementation of stricter emission policy as well as an increased interest in electric vehicles based on consumer behavior. The research also specified that one of the reasons that people in these developed countries are becoming more and more keen on owning and using electric vehicles is that the technology costs are becoming more and more affordable for them.
The national governments in several developed countries also play a vital role in encouraging people to switch to electric vehicles instead. This has been on of the most effective way in lowering the harmful effects and emissions of greenhouse gas. Through the provision of tax breaks and subsidies, governments are making it even more affordable for an average individual or family to own an electric vehicle. Low-emission zoning policies have likewise been introduced in several countries.
The same growth is also expected in other high-income cities across the globe. With the ever-changing landscape of the automotive industry, the unceasing quest for better and newer technologies, and the thirst for innovation after innovation, these gigantic automobile companies will continue to find ways to encourage more users and buyers from these high-income cities .
The Lowering Cost of Technology
Surprisingly, the cost of technology is also one of the key contributors to the rising demand for electric cars. A clear example of this can be seen on the big drop in the cost of lithium –ion batteries. In 2010, the cost was around $1000 for every kilowatt hour. However, in 2015, it has dropped by as much as 65 per cent which makes it around $350 for every kilowatt hour. According to the report released by the joint study performed by Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNE) and McKinsey & Co, the cost of the said battery is expected to take a further nosedive in the next decade. As per their forecast, these batteries used in electric vehicles may likely to cost around $100 per kilowatt hour.
The Impact of EV Growth to the Automotive Sector
Although the recent studies may cause a positive news on the end of the electric vehicle producers, it may have a different impact on the automotive industry as a general. With the skyrocketing sales of electric vehicles in highly-dense cities is a good sign, it could very well mean a different path for the entire automotive industry. The report highlights the possibility of the automotive industry to face a future that is utterly different from what it has been accustomed to. Said difference in the electric vehicle ownership may prompt a change from the usual product-ownership business model to a multi-transport service model.
What does this mean to the existing gasoline retailers of today? The research suggests that with them imminent growth in electric vehicles, these gasoline retailers should begin monetizing their current assets so as to benefit from electric charging in the long run. They must likewise employ strategies that would boost their growth in fleet services as well as in the retail market. These are the possible ways for them to compete and co-exist with the charging points of electric vehicles.
A Closer Look at the Report
Mobility is considered the lifeblood of every city and is an integral part of the urban life. In connection thereto, the Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF) and McKinsey & Co seek to understand and determine what could be the future of ‘urban mobility’. The research they recently worked on aimed to take a closer look at how economic, social, and the technological trends co-exist and work together to put a halt in mobility at a certain level.
Interestingly, the result focuses on three different models that are achievable by the year in 2030. While it is apparent that each developed city may go forward taking different paths individually, the mobility system may remain quite similar to what we have today. The study also focused on the behavior of consumers on 50 different urban areas. These 50 areas all possess the potential to display the profound and somewhat uncanny effects of personal mobility innovation in the form of electric vehicles. The models seen are also making way toward a novel city dynamism.
Consumers will continue to be more accepting and adaptive to new technologies and a range of services. These include the use of electric vehicles in various forms – cars, self-balancing scooters, e-scooters, e-bikes and the like. It is likewise inevitable to see the potential influences brought about by government policies in making this massive change happen. The increasing interest in electric vehicles is just one of the many expected outputs of the research.
EV in Developing Cities Too!
The study may have focused on developed countries, but the change in the use of electric vehicles is starting to unfold in developing cities as well. One of the most recent change makers is Bangkok , Thailand. In the said city and country, it has been reported that the use of electric vehicles has been given the green light by the authorities.
As per recent statistics, there is only a total of 52 electric vehicles (cars) on the road in Bangkok, which represents an extremely small percentage on the 1.3 million of electric cars being used around the world now. The Thai Government had mentioned that one of the reasons people find it hard to switch from fuel-powered to battery-powered electric vehicles is the fear of having to deal with depleted energy in the middle of nowhere. As they are only very few electric vehicles in the country, finding a charging point may prove to be a massive challenge. For this reason and more, the country has been quite slow in encouraging people to make that switch to electric vehicles.
This is about to change as the government is set to implement a plan that will ensure the takeoff of electric vehicles in the country. The Thai government hopes to reach 1.2 million of electric cars within the next 20 years. This would coincide with the 2030 forecast of BNEF. It was also pointed out that this year and the next three years will prove to be a turning point in the industry of electric vehicles in the country. In addition, the brand awareness on the EV manufacturers is also about to gain ground through different media platforms.
Although Bangkok is still taking baby steps when it comes to the use of electric vehicles, it can be inferred that the 2030 forecast made by the two companies does not only focus on what today’s denied and high-income cities can contribute. Clearly, even those who are relatively new in the world electric vehicles will also be contributing to the 66 percent of Evs expected to flood the roads by the said year. The different policies laid out by the government as well as the vast improvement in charging or battery swapping infrastructure can certainly speed up the pace of the thriving realm of electric vehicles.

A Electric Scooter in Urban Communities | Electric Scooter Benefits
The first electric scooter was available to the public in 1996 but it wasn’t until 2018 when these devices rose to popularity. In August of that year, the arrival of e-scooters in Louisville won the hearts of over 400,000 users, taking Lime and Bird out for a spin. Since then, similar companies released their designs of an electric scooters, and brands like Jump, Lyft, Spin, HOPR, and Bolt were born.
With this trend among residents and even tourists, electric scooters have the potential to replace conventional vehicles and become the main mode of transportation in cities like Louisville. The idea of scooter-dominated roads left urbanists and urban planners alike pondering about the pros and cons of such means of transport.
What’s more, with global warming and the ongoing pressure of climate change, debates are emerging whether these electric scooters are essentially eco-friendly.
A Better Ride for Short Distances
In a census from city-data, a scooter can cover an average distance range of .66 miles from August 2018 to July of 2019. The median of which was 1.19 miles. The question is: Is this enough to transition from personal vehicles to electric scooters?
To draw people to use electric scooters would pose an immense challenge for green environment advocates as these individuals confined themselves to the use of their vehicles. This did not spare those who commute using bicycles given that most roads have designs to accommodate cars rather than pedal-driven vehicles.
The Electric Scooter Benefits the City
To get them to their destinations, by way of car or preferred transportation, there are options made available for commuters. However, they have to put matters such as those that generate less traffic or contribute minimal pollution into consideration.
This concept poses no problems for tourists, especially when they want to make the most of their holiday and maximize sightseeing as much as possible. Taking a ride on an electric scooter might be the best possible answer.
That being said, e-scooters can do only as much as take them on short-distance trips, conserving fossil fuels as in the case of cars. Additionally, e-scooters have the advantage of maneuverability through narrow passageways. This can consequently bring its riders to their destinations in a shorter time.
Solution for the Last Mile Problem
Outside the limits of the city, the last mile problem remains one of the major issues for urban planners. With e-scooters, it may very well serve as an ideal solution for this movement, especially for short mean distances.
The last mile is a term used to describe the concluding section of the delivery of commodities and commuters from a transportation hub to its final stop. The usual route of buses typically ends in areas where there are few to none sidewalk systems. This is where e-scooters come in. These may be able to subtend the rift by serving as envoys to transport commuters to their respective destinations.
Plans for the E-Scooter Deployment
The Office of Advanced Planning constructed a plan last 2016, which conveniently applied to scooters in cities like Louisville. In this policy, a mass of considerations was on the table to allow the transition of public transit with bikes and scooters being part of that shift. One study revealed that 82% of commuters in Louisville drive to work alone.
When shared scooters first came out, the 2016 document recently came through. Bird, in particular, was still putting up with various capital firms to seal a contract. The goals of this plan fully encompassed the e-scooters under the LouVelo bike-share program.
In an interview, authorities didn’t anticipate that e-scooters were going to show up on our street, but we have a goal that says embrace smart mobility, and they knew that the sharing economy was growing. Although Louisville is in the process of developing its roadways to accommodate different means of transportation, urban planners are still doubtful whether the city is truly ready to handle electric scooters.
Last July, eight operators operated simultaneously as the city dock less vehicle policy improved. This is a huge step up compared previously when only four were permitted to operate. Included in the revision was the lowering of company ideals in terms of the sizes of their fleets.
On average, one company is allowed only 650 vehicles as per the probationary license. On the other hand, 1,050 vehicles are granted to companies that possess a full operational license. Companies that function within Louisville operate on a regulation that restricts them from rapidly growing their scooter business. Under this law, companies can add a maximum of 100 scooters a month during its probationary period, whereas up to 200 scooters roam the streets for those with a full license.
Electric Scooter Backlash
Despite its boom, e-scooters received quite a handful of negative criticisms, to the extent that some of the vehicles suffered vandalism. This is not the first time. From brakes being cut to scooters being thrown into the river or being set on fire, numerous other similar cases happened across states.
One of the reasons for these destructive acts is due to the poor handling of their owners. Individuals blatantly expressed their disdain towards the vehicles for improper parking in the middle of sidewalks or even obstructing ramps designated for disabled patients.
Electric Scooters are Eco-Friendly
One of the best features of e-scooters is its sustainability. While these vehicles herald for being more eco-friendly than cars, some studies reported that they are not entirely green.
Electric scooters require regular charging and transferring them to charge hubs can increase their lifetime emissions. Gas-powered vehicles usually gather the scooters and return them to private garages to put them back up at a certain location the next morning.
Lime data published that each car trip is equal to one of three scooter trips. Moreover, both Lime and Bird are developing ways to counterpoise the emissions discharged by their fleet, and this includes pick-up vehicles.
The E-Rides are for the People
Cities that embraced innovative technology openly chose e-scooters as the preferred mode of transportation. This gave rise to accessibility programs wherein companies petitioned people who have narrow choices for transport. Lime Access, One Bird, and Bolt Forward are some of the companies that offer rental scooter services for anyone who meets the criteria of government assistance programs. For convenience’s sake, these programs allow transactions through the use of cash and regular phones rather than a credit card or smartphones, respectively.
Electric Scooter technology and transportation is something everybody should have access to. The more riders get access to use micro mobility, the better it will be for our cities. It will be for the improvement of our communities and better off our citizens of this country.

Features And Benefits: BMW C Evolution Electric Scooter
Powerful Liquid-cooled Electric Motor And High Voltage Battery
The rear wheels on this electric scooter are connected through a swingarm that is powered by a drivetrain that uses a permanent magnet motor. The connection is made using a belt and ring mechanism that has teeth. The electronically limited top claimed speed of 75mph is a result of this powerful motor that is capable of giving 11 kW of rated power output and 35 kW of peak output.
Due to its air-cooled 8 kWh lithium-ion battery, C evolution can easily give you 62 miles without ever stopping to charge it. It can be charged with any domestic mains supply. It takes between 3-4 hours to get fully charged depending on the kind of outlet that you are using to charge it.
Torque Control Assist (Tca)
This feature works similarly to the Automatic Stability Control feature on a BMW motorcycle with a combustion engine. In simple words, torque control assist controls the motor’s torque based on the slip on the rear wheel.
When the rear wheel exceeds the threshold of slipping, the electronic motor monitors it and reduces the drive torque. TCA is helpful when the vehicle is starting or braking and when surfaces like wet roads that lack friction.
Four Ride Modes And Intelligent Recuperation
This kind of energy regeneration method has never been used for single-track vehicles; BMW is the first. The C evolution is designed to recuperate or regenerate its electrical energy.
At the same time, the throttle is closed (the throttle is responsible for the flow of fuel and gas mixture; closed means the engine is stopped) and even when the brakes are applied.
The four ride modes can be selected as per the rider’s preferences for road mode, where you have medium recuperation and full acceleration. For dynamic mode, it is a combination of strong recuperation and full acceleration.
For eco pro mode, we have high recuperation and reduced acceleration. There are no brakes at all for sail mode, which means it suppresses recuperation while coating with the throttled release and C evolution electric vehicle glides along virtually free of any braking effects.
Led Daytime Running Light And Large Tft Display(color)
An innovative characteristic of the C evolution is its equipped with a reversible aid that helps you maneuver at slow speeds. Its LED daytime running light turns on dimly to double as the sidelight. For comfortable riding in winters, they have heated handlebar grips.
The TFT color display displays information like current speed, average consumption in kWh/100 km, battery charge status in kWh, total power consumption, average speed, the voltage of the onboard electrical system, and the remaining range as per the mode selected. It also shows you a graph to indicate the current level of energy draw or regeneration.
Innovative Design
BMW also fitted this electric scooter with a new design and color scheme. The color scheme has a meaning to it: the light white non-metallic denotes the super dynamic performance, and the electric green symbolizes its eco-friendliness.

Electric Scooters and Rechargeable Batteries | Commute Scooters
Electric Scooters rechargeable batteries are the power source of e-rides down the road. These power units store electrical energy that is the life blood of e-vehicles. The quality of your power units will affect the performance of the equipment they deliver to, even the best electric scooter will not go far if its batteries are inferior in quality. It is best to choose the right battery pack for your equipment especially when you need to go fast or travel long distances.
Evolution of the Electric Scooter Batteries
Can you recall when cellular phones used large battery packs but do not last long to power the units? Today’s mobile phone technology manifests how far the battery’s evolution developed. Thinner and smaller batteries came into fruition. To run forward in its development,
batteries can go cordless charging. Powerful and smaller batteries emerged through the years making it convenient for users of the device.
Electric Scooter Rechargeable Batteries Through the Years
Sealed Lead Acid Battery (SLA)
The sealed lead acid batteries were the first rechargeable units that was invented by Gaston Plante’ in 1859.This type of battery are also in vehicles that use petrol as the source of power and is the longest rechargeable battery used for its high current generation for vehicles to ignite an engine. They were the first rechargeable batteries used in cars and trucks, it was just right to apply SLA rechargeable batteries to electric scooters. Some electric scooter companies are still using these power cells for the power it delivers.
However, the disadvantage of these units come in bulky and heavier than today’s modern batteries. The reasons why these type of batteries are still in the market are its reliability for immediate power and they come cheap to e-scooter owners. SLA batteries have 400 charge cycles only and takes seven to eight hours to fully recharge. Its content is a threat to the environment when not stored properly. Sealed lead acid batteries self discharges 40% of its stored energy in a year.
If owners opt to store SLA rechargeable batteries, it must be charged regularly to prevent sulfation, a condition that damages the SLA batteries that makes it difficult to recharge. Deep cycling is discouraged with SLA batteries as it diminishes its charging capacity every time total drain out happens. The full drain is not good for this type with only 200 to 300 charge cycles available.
SLA batteries must have a storage temperature of 25° and every spike of up to 8° C will cut the battery life to 50%. SLA batteries that could have lasted for 10 years will last for 5 years once operated at 33°C. The same unit worked at 31° C will last a little over a year only once exposed to 41° C operating temperature. Performance of this type is poor at low temperatures. Its high content in lead makes this type of battery unfriendly to the environment.
The battery type improved the quality of batteries better than the sealed lead acid battery for the electric scooter and its users. The power units are 30% lighter compared to the SLA that makes it more expensive. The nickel metal hydride battery lasts longer than the SAL rechargeable battery. This type charges from 6 to 7 hours. NiMH self-discharges heavily when not in use and are bulky and weighs a lot.
One of the drawbacks of the NiMH is its deterioration after 200 to 300 cycles of charging. Shallow discharges is best than deep discharges before recharging to full capacity. Repeated battery energy discharges diminishes the efficiency of the Nickel Metal Hydride battery. These batteries will have lowered efficiencies if exposed to extreme weather.
This type of battery needs full discharge before recharging. Crystalline formation will occur if not fully used up. These batteries cost more than the Sealed Lead Acid batteries.
Lithium-ion Batteries
This type of power cells are the most in demand for modern electric scooters due to its rechargeable batteries. Lithium-ion batteries have higher density that makes it effective on higher capacity requirement. Its self discharge is 50 percent slower than the NiMH and SLA batteries. Another beneficial feature of the Lithium-ion battery is its low maintenance upkeep.
Lithium-ion batteries last approximately three times more than the sealed lead acid type making it attractive to electric scooter producers. They also weigh 50% less than the SLA battery.
One of the drawbacks of the Lithium-ion battery is its high cost of production. It is not cheap to manufacture this type at 40% more than the NiMH and NiCd types. But the years will develop its manufacturing techniques and replace cheaper metals to lower its cost on users.
There are two types of Lithium -ion rechargeable batteries for electric scooters:
- Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP). This type lasts longer than the standard Li-ions and are safer when consumed by the e-scooter. It is more expensive than the regular Li-ion batteries.
- Lithium Polymer (LiPo). The LiPo battery is a produced in a pouch format instead of a cell type packing. This type is a preference for its small and flat form especially for electronic devices and electric scooters.
Rechargeable batteries are the heaviest component of an electric scooter. It is also a major part of the e-scooter that wears it down when a rider uses the ride. Modern designs use lightweight material to reduce heavy metals enforced in its production. It is common that the rechargeable batteries of an electric scooter makes up the most weight of the equipment. The weight of the battery could scale from 5 kilos to 26 kilograms and is a consideration when dismantling the device for transport.
When recharging the electric scooter, consider the charging amenities used for the procedure. The life of your rechargeable batteries will depend on how you handle the process of recharging. External Charger units are the preference of most users. External chargers are safer to use than the internal amenity; there will be no vibrations when using external chargers and will result to a longer life cycle of your rechargeable batteries. Charge the scooter correctly and you’ll add life to the rechargeable batteries it carries.
