Cool Vespa Segway – Electric Scooter

Vespa Segway is made by an Italian scooter brand which is manufactured by Piaggio. Vespa translates to “wasp” in Italian. The brand has evolved from a one model only motor scooter back in 1946 to a complete line of scooters and is just one of 7 companies currently owned by Piaggio.

The word Segway is basically a homophone for “segue”, which means smooth transition. These Segue’s are run on electric motors and can attain speeds of 20 km/h. Users can make it move forward by shifting weight in that direction and backward by shifting weight in the opposite direction. The device can detect changes in the center of mass while balancing itself before establishing or maintaining speed either forward or backward.

But what would happen if you combined both these distinctive vehicles and give a very cool upgrade to a not so cool Segway? In come the designers from Bel & Bel, a Spanish design house. They have given a lot of thought to the subject and as a result created the Vespa Segway. This new product is called the Zero scooter and is made from parts that have been taken from the Vespa. It looks quite brilliant. Hipsters finally have a new ride.

This is the first self-balancing scooter designed by Corradino D’Ascanio.
